Duvel truly surprises everyone. During a tasting session with the village's notables, shoemaker Van De Wouwer exclaimed, intensely surprised by the beer's powerful aromas: "This is a real Duvel." A divine inspiration? From 1923, the beer was marketed and served under this name.
